Illinois state legislators who advocate redefinition of marriage have introduced to this week's lame-duck session of the legislature a bill which is now making its way to the General Assembly for a vote - that vote could happen as early as Sunday.
Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield issued a pastoral letter that highlights consequences to citizens from the passage of this law:

Cardinal George has written a column in the diocesan newspaper, and has sent a letter to all parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Cardinal's words are, as usual, filled with common sense, wisdom, and love.

The Catholic Bishops of Illinois are looking to all citizens of good faith to help them defend and promote the true meaning of marriage. Below are ways every faithful citizen can help.
