Brother Knights,

Lots of activities need Knights to step up and lend a hand in the coming weeks. Please review the following in light of your other commitments, and plan out your participation. Lots of upcoming events are good ones to do with the whole family.

Sign up for our annual Tootsie Roll Drive supporting people with intellectual disabilities, September 11/12/13. Kids enjoy doing this event with their dads. People we encounter during the drive are often amazingly generous. See Harry Pulvermacher or Julio Cruz if you have any questions about the drive. Let's fill up these time slots and have a great drive for our friends with intellectual disabilities this year.

The Blood Drive is underway! From now through 9/15, if you or your loved ones donate blood at the LifeSource Gurnee donor center on Grand Avenue in Gurnee. you'll get a certificate for a free pint of Culver's ice cream."KOCG" is our group donor ID. Have them add it to your profile, and tell them you're with Divine Mercy Council. I went this morning; it works!

Our monthly regular business meeting is this coming Thursday, 9/10, 7:30pm in the lower level West Room at St. Paul's. Join us for food and fellowship.

Sign up to man the Knights table for Ministry weekend. On September 12 and 13, the parish holds its annual Ministry weekend and the Knights will staff a table to share information about the Knights with prospective members. Can you help?

Sign up to help repair our trailer! September 19, 9am: calling all Knights to a working party to fix up our Christmas Tree Lot Trailer. Dan Roder will have all the tools and materials needed, but feel free to bring your own, too. Excellent opportunity to supervise a son or daughter in a DIY project.

Trivia Night is 9/19. Doors open at 6:30pm and competition starts at 7pm. We're selling tickets after Masses over the next several weekends. Help out at the table after your Mass. Put together a team of 8 to compete in Trivia Night, and sign up! Or plan to help staff the event on that night. All welcome.

Also on 9/19, Archangel Council is holding a Steak Fry, with proceeds going to Coats for Kids and Wounded Warrior project. See the attached flyer for details.

A new 40 Days for Life campaign begins on September 23. 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion. God has used these campaigns to save babies, support their moms, and change the hearts and minds of abortion clinic workers in amazing ways. See https://40daysforlife.com for more details, and if you can't attend a vigil, you can still make a personal commitment to fast and pray for an end to abortion.

We're also now selling raffle booklets to support seminarians; see Ken King or stop by the table in the gathering space after your Mass to pick up booklets to sell or purchase for yourself.

RSVP for our September 30 Open House. On September 30 Divine Mercy Council will hold an Open House for Knights, their family members, and prospective new members and their spouses (we'll be inviting folks via posters at the church entrances, and flyers at our Ministry weekend table). If you'd like to reconnect with old friends, enjoy some light refreshments, or talk to prospective Knights and their families, come on out. We'll provide materials about who we are and what we do, and give some short testimonials on what being a Knight means to us. See Mark Gliva or Ed Harrigan for details.

This year's Life Chain will be held on Sunday, October 4th, from 2-3pm at St. Paul's. Please meet inside St. Paul ’s Gathering Space by 1:50 pm.The Life Chain is a prayerful and public witness against abortion. We stand along Gages Lake Road and Hunt Club Road praying for life while holding furnished signs such as "Pray to End Abortion" and "Adoption: The Loving Option". (no graphic pictures will be used) Life Chains will be held all across the United States and Canada during this time of prayer. Let's stand together in prayer to help change hearts. People of all ages are welcome to attend. Bring water, lawn chairs, umbrellas, strollers - whatever you need. It's a great chance for teens to get involved.

Vivat Jesus!
