Relay for Life, July 12

Post date: Apr 12, 2014 12:07:29 PM

Brother Knights, event captain John Giss has provided the following key information regarding the Relay for Life.

Here is the link to access our team's page, sign up, and contribute!

We will be providing a color guard for the 1st, 2nd and possibly 3rd lap. Two Knights will carry swords and two will carry the KofC flag and the American flag with the rest of the brother knights following in formation behind the front four. If the weather isn't rainy or too hot, 4th-Degree Knights, please come in regalia for the color guard. All the Knights should wear their blue council shirts and khaki pants/shorts so we are all alike. All Knights will need to be at the track by 5:30. The opening ceremonies start at 6:00 pm and we will need to be in place for that event.

Our campsite is #3 which is on the track. When you come in the gate to the track, turn left and it is the 3rd campsite down on the track. We can set up our campsite around 12:00 noon on Saturday. We will have a covered tent.

At 5:00 they are going to attempt to set a Guiness World Record for the largest game of head, shoulders, knees and toes. 1,700 participants are needed. Registration starts at 4:30 and the world record attempt starts at 5:00 pm. If anyone is interested in being part of this, be there before 4:30 pm. Also we can bring food to share at our campsite. Water is available on the track and food will be available from the Warren Boosters outside the track.

Are you ready for Relay this Saturday?!?!

!!! WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF SEVERAL VOLUNTEERS !!! Last week we received word that several volunteers that were going to help at Relay had to cancel. This is a big event and it takes a lot of volunteers to make it happen. If you know of anyone (family, friends, a Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop, or any students needing service hours) that could volunteer to help with set up Saturday morning (8-11 AM), Relay registration (4-7 PM), World Record registration (4-6 PM), Silent Auction (5-9 PM), and tear down Sunday morning (6-8 AM) please email Kelly at relaygurnee@comcast.net. We want to make sure our event is the best it can be for you but we do need volunteers to help make that happen. Anyone you can recruit to help is much appreciated! Thank you!
