Post date: Apr 13, 2013 4:51:07 PM

Brother Knights,

Grand Knight Conrad Wencka recently mailed each Council member two Raffle booklets for this fundraiser, and requested that you sell the booklets and forward the completed stubs and the money or checks to Chris Radovan using the enclosed envelope, no later than Thursday, July 11.

In 2003, the Knights of Columbus began a partnership with Global Wheelchair Missions, sponsoring 2,000 wheelchairs to be distributed in Afghanistan. Since then, Knights in Canada and the United States have sponsored the distribution of some 35,000 wheelchairs in Argentina, Columbus, Cuba, The Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Oman, Panama, the Philippines, the United States and Vietnam.

Working with the American Wheelchair Mission, the Knights of Columbus can obtain wheelchairs for the needy in any of the above-mentioned countries for a deeply discounted price (a $500 wheelchair can be obtained for only $150).

The KOC Divine Mercy Council 11112 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Gurnee, has a 2013 commitment to raise $1,050 for the purchase of 7 wheelchairs for the needy.

The Knights hope to raise the $1,050 by selling raffle tickets for the 92nd Annual Knights of Columbus Springfield Council 364 Cooperative Barbecue Raffle. The tickets have a cost of $1.00 a piece or a book of 15 tickets for $15.00. Please make checks payable to the Knights of Columbus.

There will be 72 CASH PRIZES TOTALING $25,000.00!!!!!

GRAND PRIZE $10,000.00

SECOND PRIZE $1,000.00

10 PRIZES $500.00

20 PRIZES $250.00

40 PRIZES $100.00

The drawing of the winning tickets will take place on Sunday July 28, 2013. Attendance is not required.

Please help us to obtain our goal and share the gift of mobility. Presently we have 100 booklets for sale. Buy one or buy all. The more you buy the better your chances of winning. Raffle tickets can be purchased before and after all weekend Masses. Look for the wheelchair. The Council retains $10 per booklet sold, which will be used to help us reach our commitment.

Also, if you are so moved, we will accept your donation of $150 for the purchase of a wheelchair.
